The new Offline Documents module has a new feature called ‘favourite documents’.
A document in the traditional app will only be visible in the PWA Offline Document Library if it is made a favourite document.
A document can be made favourite via two methods:
Favourites made by self
Folders and documents can be made favourite by the user and, as the method suggests, are only visible for themselves. Any documents that are important for the user can be listed as examples for this type.
Click on the heart icon in the respective row to make the entire folder (i.e., all contained items) or document favourite for you. (Once selected, the background of the heart icon colour will change to black).
Alternatively, right click and select ‘Edit Folder’ on the folder (or ‘Edit Document’ for a document) that you would like to make favourite for you.
In the ‘Edit Folder’ window, tick ‘For me’ checkbox and click ‘Update’.
Mandatory favourites
Mandatory favourites are folders and/or documents that have been made favourite by a librarian, or Document Library administrator (i.e., a user who has write access to a folder). The librarian ‘assigns’ a mandatory favourite to one or more users, so they can see the document on their PWA app.
Mandatory favourites cannot be removed by the user, unless they have write access to it.
Use this method if you want your users to always have certain documents in their PWA app.
To set a folder or document as a mandatory favourite:
Follow steps 2-3 in the Favourites made by self section above, then select one or more users by using the Personnel Picker next to the ‘Make mandatory for users’ label.
For a folder, click Update to save changes. For a document, progress through the wizard and click Finish to save changes.
If you make a folder/document a mandatory favourite for a base or/and a department , if you create a new personal under the selected base or/ and department, he/she will also inherited the same document in his/ her offline document library. Manual assignment is not required.
